Ecosis has worked on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for IOX Cable Ltd.

The project consists of the laying of cables from South Africa to Mauritius to Rodrigues to India.

It conducted the Environmental & Social Impact Assessment process in terms of the Government of Mauritius Environmental Protection Act (EPA) in force and in conformity with the IFC Performance standards for Environmental and Social Sustainability for the landing of a submarine telecommunication cable at a landing site near la Cambuse in Mauritius and at possible landing sites along the coast between Caverne Provert and Baladirou in Rodrigues.

Ecosis also supported the Client in obtaining the necessary environmental approvals for the Project within the Republic of Mauritius and Rodrigues.

Ecosis has also facilitated the stakeholders’ engagement, including consultation with authorities in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
